Inglorious Basterds

What She said:

This movie wasn't bad. It was very interesting at times, a little boring at others. There was some classic Tarantino over-the-topness, and some pretty nasty gore. Christoph Waltz was very good. Brad Pitt was a little goofy. That's about all I have to say about this one.

What he said:

I thought this was Tarantino's best movie since Jackie Brown. Whatever he had early in his career when he wrote From Dusk Till Dawn, and directed Pulp, Dogs, and JB, he hasn't had since imo. I just don't like most of his modern work. That being said, I thought this movie was decent. His best work in a while, but seriously not worth of the buzz it's getting. I still cannot believe this movie is nominated for an Oscar. I'm shocked.

When the opening dialogue between Col Landa (Christoph Waltz was brilliant by the way) and the darity farmer was taking place, I thought "Wow, Tarantino is back." It was a seriouly well done scene. But a lot of the other dialogue scenes were overly wordy, boring, and too long. Tarantino has no idea how to edit a scene. He just lets it go on and on forever.

Thumbs half up.
